Duties:Help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young childrenSupport lead teachers with daily activities and classroom supervisionFoster the YMCA's core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caringAssist with implementing curriculum and guiding structured and free play activitiesPromote positive behavior and help maintain classroom routinesAttend to children's basic needs including meals, rest, and outdoor playParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and family engagement eventsRequirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCDA credential or equivalent preferredCompletion of DCF MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 & 2)1+ year of experience working with children in a developmental settingAble to work with infants, toddlers, and young children both indoors and outdoorsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and lift up to 40 lbsMust be comfortable participating in activities and engaging physically with childrenVision requirements include close/distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentPass a 10-panel drug screen.Clear a Level 2 background check*Pay & Perks: Full-time, $14.75–$20.00/hour (based on experience).
