Location: Salem Hospital, 890 Oak Street SE Salem, OR 97301 Department: Diagnostic Imaging Position Type: Unscheduled/Per-Diem, Non-Exempt Schedule: Operating hours are 24-hours a day, seven days a week, coverage for 12-hour shift based on availability,variable on-call coverage Your role with us At Salem Health, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists are critical to delivering safe, high-quality imaging that supports accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. Our MRI techs operate state-of-the-art equipment and advanced imaging systems, including EPIC, Radiant, and PACS, with a high degree of proficiency and attention to detail. They tailor every scan to the unique needs of each patient—adjusting protocols, analyzing exams for completeness, and documenting thoroughly to ensure the best possible outcomes. Safety is always top priority, with strict adherence to MRI safety protocols and ALARA radiation guidelines. What you'll do Operate state-of-the-art MRI scanners with skill and precision. Select protocols and adjust exposure factors based on patient anatomy, condition, and clinical needs to consistently produce high-quality images with minimal scan time. Evaluate scans for completeness and diagnostic value. When necessary, gather additional images or patient information beyond standard protocols to support optimal radiologist interpretation. Proficiently use EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to access exam histories, input procedure requests, and document technical details. Prepare complete case documentation, including relevant symptoms, history, and technical parameters used. Strictly adhere to MRI safety protocols, including proper screening procedures. Follow ALARA guidelines and all departmental safety and medication reconciliation policies. Provide age-appropriate and holistic care, adjusting communication and technique to meet each patient’s physical and emotional needs during the imaging process. Communicate effectively with radiologists, care teams, and support staff. Required qualifications Credentialed in radiography with theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT). Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI,ORthe American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT) in MRI. Licensed in radiography with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI). Why Salem Health?
