Position description The Department of Demography at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. This includes but is not limited to applicants with expertise in economic demography, computational demography, environmental demography, the demography of health and aging, the demography of fertility and family change, as well as migration and population dynamics. The search is not restricted by subfield and scholars with interdisciplinary interests are encouraged to apply. The position's duties include: academic research and publications, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and administrative service. The UC Berkeley Demography Department occupies a unique niche in the population studies landscape, with a strong focus on formal demography, population theory, and the relationship between demographic dynamics and social, cultural, epidemiological, and economic dynamics.
