Environmental Services Technician - Full Time (U)

The University of Miami Hospital (UTower) has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Services Technician - Full Time (U) in the Environmental Services Department. The Environmental Services Technician - Full Time (U) performs cleaning functions to maintain a sanitary, safe, and orderly condition throughout the facility.

Core Job Functions:

• Follows established cleaning methods and procedures in performing cleaning duties.
• Uses only cleaning supplies and chemicals that have been approved by management.
• Adheres to guidelines for fire and general safety, waste disposal, dress code, and patient information.
• Reports areas in need of special cleaning or repairs to appropriate supervisor.
• Assists in the maintenance of equipment and organization of supplies.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• In lieu of education: One-year experience as a housekeeper in the hotel/motel commercial/industrial sanitation or health care related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
