Global Scientific & Medical Publications Lead, Vaccines

Team & Purpose Sanofi Vaccines’ Scientific & Medical Publications team is part of Vaccines’ Medical Operations Excellence organization. The team ensures proper development, execution, and dissemination of Sanofi Vaccines’ scientific and medical publications in close collaboration with research and development, global medical franchise teams, and other medical operations teams. The Global Scientific & Medical Publication lead reports to the Global Medical Scientific Communications and Engagement Head, Vaccines. Responsibilities Manage the assignment of publication projects across team members. Lead publications planning and operational activities for selected franchise/products. Expand company‑wide communication, visibility, and training around publications. Ensure the participation of Publication Managers in all company publication activities. Provide a single, company‑wide vision of Sanofi Vaccines’ publication activities. Maintain compliance with Sanofi policy and Good Publication Practices. Direct resources and collaborate with Sanofi Global BO/Hub (iEnvision: day‑to‑day operational management, medical writing, editing, graphics design, submissions to journals and congresses). Represent Vaccine Medical within the scientific publications community to ensure its needs are represented at Sanofi level. Represent Vaccine Medical within the Sanofi iEnvision team and with the CMO organization to align needs. Represent Vaccine Medical Publications in implementation of iEnvision and other tools, systems, and processes related to scientific publications. Represent Vaccine Medical in any update of publication‑related SOPs, policies, and guidance documents in collaboration with Sanofi iEnvision. Lead implementation of the Publication Plan process and governance informed by the integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) and the Global Medical Roadmap (GMR). Maintain the Smart Publications Handbook and ensure its dissemination, training, and implementation. Provide day‑to‑day management for the team, coach mentors, develop professional and leadership competencies, and motivate staff to achieve objectives. Ensure timely compliance with performance reviews, corrections, and policy implementation. Manage accurate and timely budget management of projects within the Scientific & Medical Publications team and maintain a vendor network to promote high‑quality outsourcing. Promote effective collaboration and interaction between publication managers, content developers, and insight team members. Participate in and influence activities of relevant professional associations such as ISMPP, TIPPA, EMWA, and AMWA. Experience & Qualifications Prior relevant experience in scientific and medical publications management. Up‑to‑date knowledge of current publication‑related regulations, recommendations, best practice, technologies, formats, and guidelines. Experience with vaccines or public health is an advantage. Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in medical affairs (global, regional, or local). Proven experience building strong internal and external working relationships. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and share information to contribute to the medical planning process and execute the agreed plan in line with objectives. Proactive and effective team player. Experience working within large multinational teams with a high‑performing culture. People‑management experience is an advantage. Education Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, or related field. Advanced degree (MS, MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred. Technical Skills Strong working knowledge of ICMJE and good publication practice industry guidelines. Excellent project‑management skills. Salary $178,500.00 – $257,833.33 (US and Puerto Rico residents only). Compensation determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
