Primary City/State: Tucson, Arizona Department Name: Imaging Nrsg Support-Hosp Work Shift: Day Job Category: Nursing Job Overview As a Medical Imaging Nurse in Interventional Radiology, you’ll play a vital role supporting advanced imaging and interventional procedures, primarily in IR, MRI, and CT, including high‑acuity cases such as trauma and stroke. Working alongside physicians, you’ll provide procedural sedation and ensure patient safety throughout every procedure. Schedule and Compensation Four 10‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating on‑call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Location Banner University Medical Center Tucson is a Level 1 Trauma Center. Responsibilities Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review patient history, physical, diagnostics, and laboratory data and report abnormal results to the physician(s). Complete assessments and reassessments as outlined in policy. Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family, and health team input. Initiate and revise the plan based on patient‑specific needs. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision. Provide care according to physician orders and nursing plan, complying with policies and regulations. Delegate and supervise licensed nurses and other personnel. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan as needed. Monitor progress toward goals and outcomes. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness, and compliance with policy. Provide evidence‑based care and may participate in research within clinical practice. Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and mentor others when appropriate. Contribute to society by improving patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Participate in professional organizations as appropriate. In some roles, supervise staff and workflow of the department. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to support patient care. Coordinate with clergy for spiritual support and prioritize data from multiple sources. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or temporary/interim RN license. BLS certification required; additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting; experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.
