SUMMARYProvide pre-operative evaluations for all surgical patients with acute and chronic conditions in an ambulatory setting.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: SurgerySCHEDULE: DaysATTRIBUTESStrong customer service and communication skillsCompassionate, warm and patient focusedMust be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actionCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExceptional documentation skills and professional behaviorExperience in internal medicine, inpatient care, or perioperative/surgical care highly preferredRESPONSIBILITIESSynthesize and interpret history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing data to evaluate patient for preparation for upcoming proceduresProvide telephone consultation, follow-up phone calls; assess needs and make recommendations and/or referrals as appropriateRefer patients to physician, and/or specialist as necessaryResponsible for the work-up and follow up of patients seen in the officeChecks preoperative laboratory, EKG and x-ray data; any significant abnormal finding should be addressed timely and reported to the attending surgeon when appropriateWrites preoperative orders according to patient needs and departmental guidelinesNotifies attending surgeon of any issues regarding patient that potentially will delay/cancel procedureMaintains proficiency in field by attending coursesShall comply with Rules and Regulations of the department as they apply to physician assistantsShall comply with Rules and Regulations of the hospital where credentialed pertaining to Medical Records, codes/emergencies/disasters, professional and ethical standardsTraining of other students as requestedEDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.PAY RANGE:$100,000.00 - $150,000.00CITY:RochesterPOSTAL CODE:14626The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
