Compensation range: $22.53 - $28.84. Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience.

Shift: Varied. Shift length: 8 Hours. Days off: Variable. Hours per pay period: 12.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Laboratory Technical Assistant pre-processes specimens by receiving, labeling and loading the specimen(s) onto analyzers. They routinely perform routine and specialized assignments and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the procedures in the areas of a clinical laboratory under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: A minimum of two years of college course work working towards a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or other related science degree.

Desired: Certified Phlebotomy Certification.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel software programs. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Basic computer skills. Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols, and handling requirements of biohazard materials. Must know and follow all universal precautions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
