• Compensation: Starting at $26.81/hour, based on experience, education, and internal equity

What You'll Do as a Radiology Technologist

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders
• Utilize technical expertise and clinical judgment to capture accurate diagnostic images
• Provide clear communication and education to patients and families regarding procedures
• Ensure patient safety through proper positioning and adherence to radiation safety standards
• Maintain compliance with ARHS policies, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in cross-training opportunities, including Computed Tomography (CT), as needed
• Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and alignment with UNC Health Appalachian's Mission, Vision, and Values

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• Clinical radiographic experience from an AMA-accredited program
• Certification as RT(R) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at hire

• Ability to provide safe and effective patient care within scope of licensure
• Knowledge of imaging procedures and patient care standards

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Physical & Work Environment

• Continuous standing and walking for ? 8 hours per shift
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling ? 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
• Continuous hand, finger, and wrist dexterity with close visual attention
• Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, including x-ray equipment
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hospital-related hazards
• Irregular hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
