If who we are and what we do resonates with you, we invite you to join our high-performance team!Job SummaryDevelops and designs a variety of tools, machinery and equipment, such as shaping and cutting tools, dies, gauges and fixtures, for manufacturing and experimental purposes | Consults with plant and manufacturing personnel to determine tool specifications and requirements | Evaluates tools and machinery to improve quality and performanceImpact of the RoleGeneral ProfileRecognized as an expert within the company and requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline and broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization functionSolves unique problems that have a broad impact on the businessContributes to the development of organization functional strategyProgression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirementsConsistent exercise of discretion & judgmentEssential FunctionsDesigns and develops complex tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes.Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications.Develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production.Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools.Estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools.May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experienceDiscipline/Major: Engineering degree requiredCritical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeKnowledge, skills & abilities: Technical Expertise. 3D Modeling. Design Review. Failure Analysis. Functional Requirements. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Manufacturing Process Engineering. Rapid Prototyping. Statistical Process Control. Test Plans.
