Position Overview

A leading packaging manufacturer is seeking a General Manager to oversee the performance, profitability, and strategic direction of a state-of-the-art corrugated packaging facility. This individual will have full responsibility for plant operations, business results, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and commercial growth initiatives. The role requires a strong operational leader capable of driving manufacturing excellence while developing high-performing teams and expanding market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of plant performance, including safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with overall company objectives and long-term growth plans.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and support functions.
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing management team and plant culture.
• Partner with sales leadership to identify new business opportunities and support revenue growth.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
• Oversee manufacturing, production, logistics, quality, safety, and operational functions to achieve performance objectives.
• Ensure effective collaboration between operations, sales, supply chain, and other business units.
• Manage budgets, capital investments, and overall financial performance of the facility.
• Analyze performance data and implement actions that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer service.
• Lead organizational change initiatives and workforce development efforts.
• Establish and maintain a culture centered on safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience within a fully integrated box plant.
• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing and operations leadership experience.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibility, operating budgets, and capital expenditures.
• Demonstrated success leading plant operations and driving business performance improvements.
• Proven ability to develop teams, mentor leaders, and create a high-performance culture.
• Experience leading continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage changing business priorities while maintaining focus on customer needs and operational goals.
