Temporary Inventory Planning Analyst

Title: Temporary Inventory Planning Analyst Industry: Retail/E-commerce Location: New York, NY Duration: 3 months Responsibilities Partner with Inventory Control supervisors to develop and execute inventory strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Analyze and update demand forecasts using sales history, sales rates, weeks of supply, safety stock, and inventory trends. Manage in-season inventory while balancing sales, margin, markdown, and sell-through objectives. Utilize Tableau and other reporting tools to generate inventory reports and support data-driven decision making. Analyze weekly selling trends by color, size, and style to forecast inventory needs. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent inventory management experience). Prior experience in inventory planning, inventory management, merchandising, or supply chain, preferably within retail or e-commerce. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of demand forecasting and inventory KPIs (OTB, sell-through, inventory turns, WOS, etc.). Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and IF formulas. Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence/reporting tools.
