Maintenance WorkerTo maintain the physical environment of Beacon of Hope Programs.Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Responsible for overall interior and exterior buildings’ cleanlinessMaintain the safety of the site by assessing, monitoring, and resolving hazardsReport all building related problems to supervisory staffResponsible for maintaining supplies inventory, and distributing when such indicatedPerform maintenance, repairs and painting at the siteOperate light machinery and equipment to maintain the buildingMaintain immediate exterior of facilityCoordinate repair work with vendors as directedSet up, break down and move furniture or equipmentResponsible for amelioration of bedbugs, including cooperating with exterminator, cleaning out rooms, removing furniture, and other related activitiesMonitor and review work completed by Transitional Employees Program workersAssist with tasks related to maintaining the agency vehiclesSupport the maintenance operations at other Beacon of Hope sites, as neededPerform all other tasks as assigned by Beacon of Hope leadershipThe demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:Employee walks, sits, stands, bends, subject to lifting over 50 pounds and moves continually during working hours. Employee will be exposed to the use of routine cleaning and other chemicals.Ability to travel to and within fieldwork sites and other locations throughout New York City using public transportation, traversing streets, ascending/descending stairs, and exposed to outside weather conditions.Traverse neighborhoods that may require a high level of alertness and awareness of surroundings.Assess and work in varied environmental conditions.This is a full-time position, Hours - 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m.Education and/or experience required:High School Diploma or its equivalentExperience in the maintenance/janitorial fieldNY state Drivers license required3-5 years of related experience
