Accounting Assistant

We are working with a client who is looking for a detail-focused Accounting Assistant who enjoys keeping things organized, solving problems, and supporting a fast-paced business. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end activities, and financial reporting while working closely with company leadership!
What You'll Do
- Process invoices, payments, and vendor records
- Create customer invoices and apply cash receipts
- Support collections and maintain customer account balances
- Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
- Prepare reports and analyze financial data
- Identify ways to improve processes and increase efficiency
- Support special projects and day-to-day finance operations
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, or AR experience
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Bonus Points
- ERP experience (especially Sage X3)
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close
- Interest in automation and process improvements
