Physicians provide examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in ambulatory urgent care facilities, operating between 8:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. Clinics include Conejo Valley Family Medical Group, Las Islas Family Medical Group (South), Magnolia Family Medical Center (East), Sierra Vista Family Medical Clinic, and West Ventura Medical Clinic. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, family‑oriented, culturally sensitive clinical care for patients of all ages. Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, make diagnoses, and prescribe and monitor treatments. Administer immunizations and provide counseling on lifestyle changes and self‑management goals. Coordinate with care teams to meet patient treatment goals. Manage high volumes of patients and adapt to frequent changes. Follow quality‑improvement workflows to increase patient access. Explain care plans and procedures in clear verbal and written language. Prescribe medical tests, order laboratory work, and interpret results. Consult and refer to specialists, and collaborate with nurses, assistants, and other physicians. Maintain accurate, timely medical records and documentation, including progress notes and care plans. Keep medication and problem lists updated. Respond to portal messages and EHR inbox in a timely manner. Provide patient and family counseling and obtain informed consent. Participate in on‑call rotations if required. Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions as directed by Ambulatory Care administration. Adhere to safety protocols, including dual patient identifiers and time‑out procedures. Maintain privileging eligibility, including CME requirements. Administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation during emergencies. Comply with medical laws such as HIPAA and mandatory reporting protocols. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications Completion of an ACGME‑accredited residency in family medicine, including: Degree in Medicine At least 3 years of residency training Current state medical license DEA number Passage of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination Willingness to meet VCMC Medical Staff Credentialing requirements (actively practiced minimum 10 hours per week in the specialty for 12 of the previous 24 months or completed a residency within the previous 18 months). Seven biweekly shifts, including one weekend shift (for regular positions). Board certified or board eligible in family medicine. Benefits General Salary Increase (GSI) of 3.5% effective October 11 2026. Possibility of a bilingual incentive of up to $1.32 per hour.
