Surgical Tech - Certified- Part Time

Barstow Community Hospital, Barstow, CA 92311, USA Description Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intraoperatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient and take responsibility for personal action. Responsibilities Prepare and handle supplies and equipment during surgery. Support the surgical team in operation room settings. Assist in setting up and anticipating surgeon needs. Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment, including autoclaving procedures. Transport patients as needed during procedures. Qualifications High school graduate or higher. Certification from the National Association of Surgical Technologists (NAST) required. CPR certification required; must be obtained within 2 months of hire. Experience: At least one year in a main operating room within the last two years. Basic knowledge of scrub role, instrument handling, and setup. Knowledge of autoclave operation. Ability to anticipate surgeon’s needs. Experience transporting patients. Licenses & Certifications
