Material Handler Lead

How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Omaha team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Material Handler Lead you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. Support departmental safety requirements, to include coordination of audits and safety inspections. Coordinate movement of labor resources according to production and warehouse plans and goals. Ensure labor needs are met for current business demands. Provide warehouse training for new hires and current team members. Escalate safety, operational, and labor issues to the appropriate leadership team member. Oversee, train and participate in the training and development of the material handlers. Make sure autonomous robots are running continuously and are utilized on shift properly. Continuously train employees on updated processes and procedures with autonomous robots. Ensure team members are completing daily tasks and that they are working as a team Support the production floor to make sure pallets are picked up in a timely manner to avoid excessive pallet build up at the station creating a safe work environment. Work closely with production to make sure they have all the WIP, corrugate, chipboards or anything else needed in a timely manner. As needed, conduct motorized rolling stock (MRS) audits and inspections. Ensure all MRS is inspected by operators. Provide guidance and support to assigned team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards; conduct regular inspections and report any concerns to ensure a safe working environment. Report forklift performance/maintenance issues to supervision in a timely manner. As assigned, Lead warehouse projects including collaboration with leadership team as required. Maintain company attendance standards, including weekend work as assigned. Adhere to daily work schedules. Report food safety concerns to management. Perform other duties as assigned. Successful candidates for the role will possess the following: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Strong understanding of HAACP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). Capability to utilize problem‑solving skills. Ability to coach and track performance of direct reports. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Able to utilize interpersonal and communication skills in daily work. Must be self‑motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Upholds and supports organizational goals and Core Values. Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. Takes initiative and asks for help when needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic knowledge of computers and data entry procedure. Moderate understanding of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems. One year of Manufacturing experience preferred. Motorized rolling stock certification required. Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead material handlers on daily tasks and make sure they are aligned with objectives and goals for the day. Engage in training, coaching, mentoring, influencing and overseeing assigned work groups. Using servant leadership principles, model the company core values as they pertain to established policies, procedures and state law. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to operate MRS equipment continuously during the shift. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid, hot or cold conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving motorized rolling stock equipment, and loud noise from the grind room.
