Postdoctoral Researcher – Behavior Technology Laboratory: Health, Performance & Resilience Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a campus of Louisiana State University, is a world‑renowned academic research institute that conducts basic, clinical, and population research focused on obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and dementia. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Position Details Position Type: Other Academic Department: LSUPBRC PopSci - Behavior Technology Lab Work Location: LSU – Pennington Biomedical Pay Grade: Other Academic Posting Date: June8,2026 Closing Date: July31,2026 Overview We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Behavior Technology Laboratory, which develops evidence‑based behavioral interventions and technology‑enabled solutions to enhance health, performance, and resilience in high‑performance populations such as NCAA athletes, elite athletes, U.S. military soldiers, military families, and youth in sport. The role involves clinical, translational, and population science research across prevention, assessment, and treatment, with delivery of interventions via smartphone applications, digital platforms, athletic systems, military settings, schools, and healthcare environments. Responsibilities Staff and treat complex clinical cases involving body image disturbance, disordered eating, eating disorders, and mental health concerns. Develop and evaluate technology‑based interventions. Design and implement research studies and manage study operations. Conduct data analysis and disseminate findings through scientific presentations and publications. Contribute to ongoing research on performance optimization strategies via health behaviors. Assist with statistical analyses of datasets. Prepare peer‑reviewed scientific manuscripts and abstracts. Required Qualifications PhD in nutrition, psychology, exercise science, kinesiology, epidemiology, public health, or related field. Demonstrated research experience in behavioral health, clinical science, translational research, population health, or performance psychology. Experience or strong interest in high‑performance populations, including athletes, military personnel, military families, or youth in sport settings. Experience with human subjects research, including study coordination, participant recruitment, data collection, and regulatory compliance. Record of scholarly productivity, including peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, or other scientific dissemination activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary research and clinical teams. Ability to manage multiple research and clinical responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and organizational effectiveness. Knowledge of ethical principles, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to clinical and research activities. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of evidence‑based approaches related to mental health, psychological resilience, body image, disordered eating, eating disorders, sleep, nutrition, health behaviors, and/or performance optimization. Proficiency with technology‑enabled research or intervention platforms, including digital health tools, smartphone applications, telehealth, or electronic data capture systems. Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, STATA, or similar platforms.
