Assistant Controller / Director of FinanceLakewood, NJ $150K - $275KAn SNF back-office is seeking a strong accounting and finance leader to oversee its accounting function and help strengthen the systems, processes, and infrastructure supporting the business.The level and scope of the role can be structured around the right candidate, ranging from a hands-on Assistant Controller to a more senior Director of Finance.ResponsibilitiesOversee the accounting function and ensure accurate, timely financial reportingLead the monthly close process and preparation of monthly financial statementsOversee accounts payable and related controls and processesManage cash flow, cash reporting, and day-to-day cash managementOversee cost reporting and support related submissions and requirementsCoordinate external audits and work closely with outside tax and accounting professionalsReview account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet activityIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reportingEvaluate and implement systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracyLead, develop, and hold the accounting team accountableRequirementsStrong accounting and financial reporting experienceHealthcare experience required, with SNF experience strongly preferredExperience leading an accounting team and overseeing core accounting functionsStrong understanding of monthly close, AP, cash management, audits, and financial controlsAbility to improve processes, implement systems, and bring greater structure to the departmentDriven, high-energy, and hands-on, with strong leadership and communication skillsComfortable operating in an entrepreneurial and evolving environment
