Test Technician

Laser & Photonics Test TechnicianThe Laser & Photonics Test Technician is responsible for the setup, calibration, testing, alignment, and troubleshooting of laser modules, electronic circuits, optical components, and mechanical assemblies. This role supports both sub-assembly and final system testing, ensuring products meet performance, quality, and safety standards. The technician works extensively with free-space optical components and advanced electronic/laser laboratory equipment.As a Test Technician, you will be involved in the following:Perform the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of laser modules, electronic circuits, and mechanical assemblies.Work with free-space optical components - test and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.Operate computer systems for testing of product and report writing.Use lasers, monochromators, optics, DMM/DVMs, arbitrary waveform generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, LabView software, current sources, laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, and other proprietary tools to perform tests and calibrations.Support Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Contribute to control of inventory and work order management.Working ConditionsManufacturing and/or cleanroom workstationDay shift with flexible start schedulePhysical RequirementsStanding and/or sitting workstationLifting 5-10 pounds regularlySafety RequirementsPPE including ESD smock, ESD foot-grounding straps, and safety glassesAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
