Sr. Staff Accountant

Job Description Job Description Company External Website Posting Employer: Rodney Hunt, Inc. Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant Location: 6200 Savoy Dr., Suite 750, Houston, TX 77036. (May work from home on a hybrid schedule within commuting distance of the Houston office.) Duties: Responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure proper documentation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor relationships and customer invoicing. Perform variance analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights. Support tax compliance efforts, including the preparation of tax filings and responses to inquiries. Lead and assist in implementing process improvements and financial system upgrades. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training as needed. Ensure that all project deliverables meet the agreed-upon quality standards and timelines. Monitor and track progress of audits, reporting deadlines, and conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance, or a closely related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related occupation with each of the following: Accounting and internal auditing; External auditing; Tax compliance; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting; Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS); Use of SAP accounting software; and Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Python, and inventory reporting.
