Clinical Medical Assistant – Outpatient Surgical Practice (No Weekends / Holidays) 

(On-site, Somerset, PA 15501)

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with full benefits; not a temporary job)

Location: Somerset, PA 15501

Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; no weekends or holidays required)

New Hire Starting Base Pay: $18.59 – $20.93 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct clinical assistant, phlebotomy, medical office, or surgical practice experience.)

Future Earning Potential: Position salary range progresses up to $27.96 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and administrative/clinical career ladder advancement.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 
• Certification: Successful completion of formal Medical Assistant (MA) training program with active/current MA Certification
• Systems Knowledge & Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency with working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and medical office operating tools.
• Clinical & Communication Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, examination and diagnostic procedures, rooming patients, taking vital signs, performing screenings, phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care level-one lab testing, and administering injectable medications/vaccines under physician supervision.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Direct Patient Care & Surgical Support: Check schedules, organize patient flow, room patients, collect medical histories, take vital signs, perform screenings, conduct phlebotomy and EKGs, and assist physicians directly with clinical and surgical practice procedures.
• Clinic Operations & Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and sanitize exam/procedure rooms, set up and sterilize instruments according to protocol, manage inventory, restock rooms, and uphold strict adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and Department of Health regulatory guidelines.
• Administrative & Front Office Support: Answer phone calls, provide general patient instructions/education, obtain lab/X-ray reports and hospital notes, verify insurance coverage and demographics, manage chart preparation, and handle appointment scheduling.
