Details Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting 36 hours per week schedule Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) and night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) options Every other weekend required Floating required within the OSU health system Monitors telemetry patients on the unit and remotely Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active RN license (OH state or compact) in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry RN experience required Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, and insulin drip titration Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration Experience with surgical drain management preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care to telemetry/PCU patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response as needed First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates with only 1 year of experience will require manager review before an offer can be extended Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less Former employees of the facility are eligible to return as travelers after a 6-month break in service Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for traveler positions Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing their contract due to strict compliance timelines American Traveler Job ID P-766805.
