About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in specialty License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year of EPIC experience Teaching and community hospital experience preferred Not accepting first-time travelers Description: Shift: 3x12 Nights. Floating required if needed to other units based on skill set. Weekend coverage every other weekend, may change based on need. Medication system: Omnicell. Patient ratio experience: 6. Charting system experience preferred. Charting system name: Community Hospital experience preferred. Staffing and scheduling type: Other. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census: 15-20. Additional unit information: Interdisciplinary support services available. Responsibilities include assessing and managing ports, bariatric surgery, blood product administration, bowel obstruction care, central line blood draw, colostomy and ileostomy management and care, feeding tube care and management, med/surg, MS/tele, orthopedic trauma, peripheral line care and management, peripheral nerve block catheters, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, and total joint replacement. Travelers must be 100 miles from every facility to be eligible to travel in the system. A minimum of six-month separation is required for travelers wishing to return after three consecutive contracts. Staff will float to units where qualifications have been demonstrated and documented. Modules are billable, up to 16 hours, and must be completed pre-start.
