The Opportunity

The Principal Product Manager for Enterprise Developer Experience defines the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platforms, tools, and capabilities developers rely on to build and deliver software. The role connects developer needs with enterprise priorities to reduce friction, improve engineering flow, and enable secure, high-quality delivery at scale.

This is a cross-cutting senior individual-contributor role. You will lead through influence, align multiple platform and engineering teams, and shape investment decisions across the developer ecosystem. A key part of the mandate is enabling responsible , high-value adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.

In addition, this role requires strong strategic leadership, critical thinking, and business acumen to guide teams through complex decisions, maximize the value of technology investments, and drive measurable outcomes across the enterprise.

Capabilities in Scope

The portfolio may include source control and collaboration, build and release automation, internal developer portals and self-service, development environments, automated testing, engineering intelligence, secure software delivery, and AI Developer Experience capabilities.

This is an opportunity to shape how an enterprise engineering community works. You will influence the platforms, practices, partnerships, and AI-enabled experiences that help developers move from idea to impact with greater speed, quality, security, and confidence.

You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring technology investments, vendor partnerships, and AI-enabled capabilities deliver sustainable business value while supporting the growth and effectiveness of the engineering community.

What You’ll Do

Set the Enterprise Developer Experience Strategy

· Define and communicate the Developer Experience product vision, portfolio strategy, and roadmap.

· Prioritize investments using developer research, product telemetry, business value, technical health, risk, and cost.

· Align domain roadmaps, identify duplication and gaps, and guide build, buy, standardize, and retirement decisions.

· Apply critical thinking and data-driven analysis to evaluate competing priorities, risks, opportunities, and long-term enterprise impact.

· Foster alignment and leadership across teams, facilitating decision-making, and partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Enable AI-Powered Developer Experiences

· Set product direction for AI coding assistants, agentic workflows, enterprise knowledge integration, AI-enabled testing, documentation, and operational workflows.

· Partner with engineering, architecture, security, data, privacy, legal, risk, and procurement to establish safe and scalable enterprise patterns.

· Drive adoption through onboarding, education, reusable practices, communities of practice, support, and clear responsible-use guidance.

· Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centric thinking

Champion the Developer

· Build continuous discovery and feedback loops with developers, engineering leaders, and technical communities.

· Translating workflow pain points and unmet needs into clear product outcomes, priorities, and roadmaps.

· Represent the developer perspective in architecture, security, governance, and investment decisions.

Drive Delivery, Adoption, and Outcomes

· Partner with engineering and platform teams from discovery through delivery, launch, adoption, and lifecycle management.

· Make transparent trade-offs across developer value, reliability, security, technical health, operational risk, and enterprise priorities.

· Define success measures for developer flow, platform and AI adoption, satisfaction, delivery performance, self-service, quality, cost, and risk.

· Drive accountability across teams for achieving strategic objectives, adoption targets, and operational excellence

Education and Experience You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field.

Required

· Overall 10+ years’ experience including 8 or more years of product management experience.

· Strong experience including ownership of enterprise developer experience platforms, software development tooling, and AI Developer experience capabilities .

· Demonstrated experience setting product strategy, making portfolio trade-offs, and delivering measurable outcomes across multiple teams.

· Strong technical fluency and the ability to build credibility with engineers, architects, security teams, and senior technology leaders.

· Experience using customer research, product telemetry, operational data, and business evidence to guide decisions.

· Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align teams when ownership, funding, and priorities are distributed.

· Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to coach, mentor, and influence technical and business teams without direct authority.

· Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound strategic decisions.

· Experience managing technology investments, budgets, vendor relationships, and value realization initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with developer platforms, internal products, or one or more Developer Experience domains.

· Experience with AI-enabled products, AI-assisted software development, or responsible enterprise AI adoption.

· Experience working in a large, matrixed, global, or regulated organization.

· Experience leading enterprise change initiatives and driving adoption of new technologies and ways of working.

The base pay for this position is

$129,300.00 – $258,700.00
