This position is responsible for greeting visitors to Student Services, answering general questions, directing constituents to the appropriate person, performing general duties as it relates to student accounts, collections, work study and registration. Answers phones, maintains office staff calendars, assists the Student Account Specialist as needed.ResponsibilitiesGreets visitors to student servicesDirects/Assists constituents to proper personnel within Student Services, i.e. Financial Aid, RegistrarManages the student ID card process and order supplies as neededAssists with student billing/collection through phone calls, emails, etc.Receives and applies payments to student accountsReceives and applies cash receipts from departmentsDistributes work study, refund, and reimbursement checks, as well as approved petty cash requests to students, staff and facultyMaintains cash drawer and receiptsAnswers all incoming phone callsMaintains and orders supplies for the officeMaintains a professional and welcoming office space and environmentCoordinates the bulletin boards inside and outside Student ServicesSorts and delivers incoming departmental mailManages mail that has been returned undeliverableProvides exceptional customer service experiences for every visitorOther duties as assignedAccountabilitiesDirect/Assist students regarding financial aid, student account, registrar and works study questionsAccurately maintain the cash drawerProvide assistance to the student account specialist, including billing, collections and payment plansProvide exceptional customer service experience for all visitors to Student ServicesManage phone system for the officeManage schedules and appointments for student Services staffMaintain a professional and welcoming environment in the Student Services centerPerform duties in a diverse, challenging and occasionally stressful environmentEducation and ExperienceRequired: Associate degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of one (1) year experience in an office at an administrative assistant level are required for this positionPreferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3 years' experience in an office setting as an administrative assistantWorking Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office environment.Hazards: Mainly those present in a normal office setting; no known hazards.
