Through operational oversight and team development, store management supports AutoZone’s mission of providing trusted automotive solutions.The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a transitional role designed to prepare you for promotion into a Retail Store Management position. With a focus on leadership training, customer service excellence, and operational expertise, you’ll receive hands-on assignments and structured learning opportunities. Within 8-12 weeks, you could progress into management—depending on your prior experience and performance.## Responsibilities* **Leadership Development** – Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high-performing, engaged store team.* **Communication Excellence** – Maintain clear and effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance.* **Metrics Mindedness** – Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to optimize store profitability.* **Structure & Process Orientation** – Support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes.* **Teamwork & Training** – Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team.* **Customer Service Leadership** – Take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively.* **Inventory & Sales Management** – Oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success.* **Operations Training** – Complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and AutoZone culture.*MITs must demonstrate consistent progression throughout the training program to be considered for management openings.
