The Home is a 24/7/365 long‑term‑care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional medical services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Our facility is located on the picturesque shoreline of the Chain O'Lakes, off Highway 10 between Stevens Point and Appleton. Position Summary Want to experience the rewards of providing care to Wisconsin veterans? This professional nursing position is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to a mostly geriatric and/or disabled population. The Nurse Clinician2 provides direction to other staff in the provision and coordination of member care, and monitors care given by other health team members on a unit, floor, or in a building. All activities are performed in accordance with applicable industry standards of practice, facility policy/procedures, and facility and governmental rules and regulations. The starting salary is between $43.72 and $50.61 per hour, based on years of licensure. Additional increases are based on years of licensure in the chart below. Years of Licensure and Pay Rate: 0 years – $43.72/hr 3 years – $45.97/hr 5 years – $47.12/hr 7 years – $48.28/hr 9 years – $49.45/hr 11 years – $50.61/hr Additional Compensation Provisions: $1.40 per hour differential for 1st shift RNs that work hours between 6 pm and 6 am. $3.90 per hour differential for 2nd or 3rd shift RNs for work hours between 6 pm and 6 am. A $3.00 per hour temporary add‑on is currently being paid for hours worked Saturday and Sunday. A $3,000 sign‑on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years, who stay with the facility in the position until completing probation. The bonus will be split, $1,500 upon hire and $1,500 after completing probation. A 12‑month probationary period is required. The pay schedule and range is 11/02. For current or eligible former State employees, pay on appointment will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. This position is not represented by a bargaining unit. Our Nurse Clinician2 positions work on all three (3) shifts – AM, PM, and NOC (overnight) – and we have part‑time and full‑time positions on campus. Candidate preferences are gathered at the time of interview. Our greatest need is currently on the PM shift. All part‑time and full‑time Nurse Clinician2 positions work multiple shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Job duties require the ability to assist in mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of an eight‑hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre‑employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will: Be licensed or eligible for a license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin or a Nurse Licensure Compact state (e.g., having a Wisconsin Registered Nurse License, graduate or soon to graduate from an approved school of nursing, waiting to take examination, or taken examination and awaiting licensure). Additional required and preferred training and/or experience that will be assessed later in the selection process includes: Providing nursing care (e.g., assessing and documenting patient status, clinical experience, providing direct and indirect patient care, administering medication and treatments, investigating, and solving problems, directing activities based on patient needs).
