The Campus Provost provides vision, leadership, and oversight for academic programming, student enrollment and success, workforce and continuing education initiatives, facilities and safety, community partnerships, budget development, staff/faculty leadership, and alignment to the district’s mission and strategic plan.
This results‑oriented leader ensures a welcoming, student‑centered environment; fosters academic excellence and innovation; and cultivates high‑performing, faculty‑friendly teams. The provost works extensively through influence—coordinating with Student and Enrollment Services, facilities, police, housing, Communications, and other centrally reporting units—to ensure seamless service and a strong sense of campus community.
While the Plano and Wylie campuses are both integral parts of Collin College, each has a distinct identity: Plano is a large, mature campus with long‑serving faculty, on‑campus housing, athletics, and a deep history in the district. Wylie is a newer, rapidly growing campus with significant facilities expansion underway, including a major CTE (Career and Technical Education) building and new program development. Provosts are expected to be a highly visible leader on their campuses, building trust, supporting faculty, honoring campus culture, and ensuring a cohesive sense of community aligned with district expectations.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate closely with Facilities staff on renovations, new construction, and transitions to new buildings and projects
Academic, Student, and Community Leadership
- Support faculty where faculty are empowered with strong resources, development opportunities, and collaborative partnerships
- Work with deans to anticipate growth and plan staffing and scheduling—critical at both Plano (high volume) and Wylie (rapid expansion)
- Engage with employers, chambers, ISDs (Independent School Districts), and economic development partners to understand workforce needs and connect faculty to industry conversations relevant to their campus
- Represent the campus in community forums and ensure campus initiatives align with district priorities
- Represent the campus in city, chamber, ISD, and community forums where participation aligns with program development, dual credit, and/or strategic community partnerships
