Laboratory Technician

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting and performing a wide range of chemical and physical analyses on petrol-fuels and chemicals. Operate equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of industrial or consumer products. Essential Functions: Work in laboratory environment wherein chemical odors may be encountered Performs assigned duties according to the current HSE laboratory safety standards Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations in performing assigned duties Collects data, documents test results, and assists in preparing reports Complete and analyze all samples accurately (water, solid, etc.) Perform and complete various technical projects in laboratory Inventory and order lab supplies as needed Follow written lab procedures manual and update manual if changes in procedures are made Qualifications: Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school Minimum two years related experience Be highly organized and able to follow a systematic method of performing a task. Must possess a valid driver’s license Skills & Abilities: Computer Skills: Strong background in MS Office applications required. Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service. Work Ethic: Be dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace. Display a sincere desire to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, and take responsibility for own actions. Show a commitment to doing the best job possible. Physical Abilities: Lift and carry 50 pounds in various packaging. Tip and move 55 gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly. Work Environment: A laboratory environment in a controlled atmosphere building.
