Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
• Administer and monitor drips including PCA and Heparin
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Work 1–2 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day) unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• PCA and Heparin administration experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Valid Driver's License

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-operative surgical nursing experience
• Patient care experience specific to hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery populations
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months
