Manufacturing SupervisorLocation: Hanover, PAThe Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 85 employees at the Hanover location.The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.This position is scheduled on a rotating 12-hour schedule. The hours for this position are 5pm-5am. There will be times where overtime is mandatory or hours may differ.Position overview: Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, the Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading the manufacturing team to ensure production of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.Duties And Responsibilities: Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Coordinates and supervises activities of equipment and workforce throughout the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity, Spoilage and Employee EngagementCommunicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing "fixes" on machinery and equipment problemsPerforms and facilitates "on the job training", coaching, and performance management of employees as needed or requiredApplies knowledge of various processes, production methods and processes to improve plant productionManages machinery set-up and adjustment and inspects products to ensure compliance to standardsOversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limitsComplete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, accident reports and process control sheetsPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS *QUALIFICATIONS:In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:Minimum RequirementsHigh School Education/GED5-7 years experience in a high-speed manufacturing environmentAt least three years of proven supervisory experienceShift: Rotating 4 on, 4 off continuous operation work schedule, 5p-5aMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional supportPreferred RequirementsBachelor's degreePackaging industry experienceKnowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean ManufacturingStrong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approachAbility to work independently or with a teamMust be able to look at new solutions and "think outside the box"Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate peopleExcellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-taskExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee may lift and/or move up to 10 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusWorking ConditionsGenerally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office settingWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficThe associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesThe noise level is frequently loudPossible Equivalent Military TitlesLogistician; Store Manager; Supply and Warehousing Manager; Transportation Manager; Transportation Maintenance Manager*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Benefits:Crown offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including free company paid health insurance for employees as well as company matched 401(k).Join us and become part of a team of professionals who are passionate about sustainable packaging!
