Electrical Project Manager - Data Centers - Chesterton, INThis opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing Buildings and Structures into complex buildings / industrial complexes and is looking to expand its foothold even further into the Critical Facilities Market. Our client is taking their expertise and focus and applying it towards brownfield data center projects - which is the process for converting an existing building to a data center for the Hyperscale, Colo or Enterprise Marketplace. This opportunity provides a career-growth minded role with exciting projects with leading-edge technology and innovation as well as competitive salaries and benefits.Responsibilities:Project focus will be 100 -500mm rangeFocus will either be on ground up data center projects (Greenfields), repurposing a building (brownfields), or retrofits of existing data centersRespond to RFPs, RFIs to generate regional work in the areaGenerate estimates, prepare and review project proposals or plan to determine and establish a time frame, work plan, funding limitationsProcedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project phasesMaintain all logs required to track the progress of the projectOversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedulePut together Project plans – size up, costs, budget and p/l, scheduling, timeline, forecasting, track expenses, manage change orders, etc.Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary. Responsible for creating and managing project schedulesMaintain liaison with various contractors and vendors in order to manage the day-to-day activities that impact the delivery of company's critical facilities construction projectsBe the point of contact with the clients onsite at the project location, represent the company in project meetings and any other contractors, GCs involved with the project, act as key Liaison with managers of all company departmentsChange Management Forms and Create Methods of Procedure (MOPs)Ensure that all day-to-day project responsibilities are met by the contractors and vendors on the projectManage a regional team of suppliers and coordinate all deliveries of equipment with the Customer's Construction Contractor.Lead the planning efforts in implementing manpower and managing the Integration of projects and timeline for Internal projects on Customer SiteDrive Company Standards uniformly as it regards to Project Delivery by all project participants on all projectsDeliver Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineeringManage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income / expenses) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the clientEnsure planning, laying out installing and wiring electrical components are completed per drawings, specs and in accordance with electrical codeOversee electrical installation of equipment and job performance on sites and ensure ongoing attention to work-site safety and standardsFollow OSHA standards with a huge emphasis of job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standardsQualifications:Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as a General ContractorExperience managing a budget 100mm or more5+ years' experience as a licensed journeyman electrician / electrical Super a plus5+ years of supervisory experience / People and Resource ManagementThorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical tradeKnowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the workAbility to supervise the work of skilled workers and provide guidance and leadershipExperience interpreting blueprints and specifications - both electrical and mechanical drawingsExperience with Electrical Conduits / Power Systems such as UPS, Switchgear, Generators, PDU'sShould have a background or know what this means when conducting electrical installations to include things like: crown box, offset and slice junctionMinimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction IndustryBA / BS / Associates Degree a plus but not requiredClient Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skillsSolid Construction Project Management experienceEffective Communicator – emails, phone and face to faceAbility to successfully work independently; Self Starter, self motivated, and attention to detailHeavy Travel / or local if near siteSolid Admin skillsOSHA Certification (or ability to get one within first 12 months of employment)Finance Experience - forecasting, budgets, etc.Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Teams, MS Project, Oracle Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD a plusPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
