This position is expected to work out of our office at 14207 Del Monte Blvd. in Marina and some job-related travel may be required.GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Mechanic to provide support to one or more facilities. This position is responsible for fixing and maintaining all equipment used in the collection and processing of material. This position is responsible for repairing and operating all equipment efficiently while observing all safety protocols to ensure that operations run smoothly.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Provide full-service preventative maintenance to Company equipment including trucks, trailer, loaders, forklifts, carts, bins debris boxes and associated equipmentAbility to read and document paperwork for maintenance, inspections and other work orders. Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions.Maintain an accurate log of all work performedAbility to use electric welder and gas/acetylene torchMaintain a current and valid commercial driver's license (Class B) and medical certificateAdhere to Company procedures, safety protocols and company policies.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure safetyAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsWelder certification or experience preferredMinimum 5 years' experience working with heavy equipmentQualifications:ASE Certification on electrical, diesel or CNG enginesASE Certification on preventative maintenanceLanguage Skill:Proficiency in English and Spanish preferredPhysical Demands:Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs.Constant bending and twistingFrequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sittingConstant climbing in and out of company truckWork Environment:Typical work week is Monday through Friday with a Saturday rotation. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
