Environment, Health and Safety Manager

ASafe Global is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to support a major data centre construction project in Haskell, Texas . This is a 12-month client-side contract commencing in September , offering the opportunity to play a key role in driving safety performance on a high-profile project. Local candidates are strongly preferred . As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for leading the site's environmental, health, and safety strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting best practices, and fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programmes, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations, as well as client and company standards. Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions. Partner with project teams, contractors, and management to promote a strong safety culture and provide expert EHS guidance. Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to improve awareness and compliance across the workforce. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, determine root causes, and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Monitor safety performance, prepare regular reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to project leadership. Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including permits, training records, inspection reports, and incident logs. Support emergency preparedness by developing response plans, coordinating drills, and participating in emergency response activities. Liaise with regulatory authorities and client representatives when required. Key Qualifications: Minimum 7 years' experience in an EHS Manager role within construction, data centre or oil & gas environments. Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale data centre construction projects or other mission-critical facilities. In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety legislation, industry standards, and EHS management systems. Proven ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence teams at all levels. Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), or equivalent are highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Gmail, and Slack.
