Position Overview
The position of a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic has the primary responsibility of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance of Heavy Equipment (Komatsu, CAT, etc.), including, but not limited to items such as Dozers, Excavators, Haul Trucks, Loaders, Cranes, Backhoes and other misc. equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs diagnostics, repairs or rebuilds mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, electrical, brakes, engines (gas and diesel), clutches, and transmission, etc. systems on a variety of equipment and tools. Documents maintenance and other service
Education and/or Experience
Mechanical or related degree preferredBasic welding experience desiredCrane knowledge a plus1-3 years of prior experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment preferredPrevious experience in periodic maintenance of heavy equipment, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Valid driver's license requiredValid CDL with Hazard Material endorsement, preferredMust be able to work in both shop and field environments.Must be safety orientedAbility to understand and follow oral instructions, communicate tactfully and effectively, with supervisors, co-workers and the public.Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.Able to comply with all company policies and procedures.Ability to travel and to work overtime when requiredMust be able to pass a drug screenMust have a strong work ethicMust be 18 years of ageAbility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
