Provides strategic oversight throughout the full project lifecycle, implementing best practices and standards specific to high-availability infrastructure environments. Applies deep expertise in construction operations to establish and track key performance indicators across safety, productivity, quality, and commissioning. Oversees risk mitigation, issue resolution, and coordination of project teams and stakeholders. Interfaces directly with clients, ensuring continuous communication and alignment with program goals. Analyzes performance metrics to recommend operational improvements and long-term value optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates a high level of autonomy and decision-making across:Development of RFPs and total project cost modelingOversight and coordination of pre-bid activitiesManagement of all design phases, from concept through permit-ready documentsClient engagement through preconstruction, delivery, and closeoutDirection and management of all external contractors and vendorsCross-functional coordination with internal teams and subject matter expertsOversight of on-site construction and critical systems integrationLeadership through the commissioning and integrated systems testing phasesHandoff of completed facilities and project documentation to Operations teamsEssential Job FunctionsFull accountability for scope, schedule, and budget performanceLead all construction activities including site acquisition support, entitlement, design development, permitting, contractor bidding and selection, execution oversight, and project closeoutInitiate and champion internal project approval cases with executive-level justificationEnforce rigorous quality control and safety compliance in alignment with mission critical standardsLead weekly site safety walks and reporting in coordination with client safety requirements (minimum two per week)Interpret and translate technical requirements into executable field direction with minimal supervisionFacilitate alignment between project team, contractors, operations personnel, and clientsPrepare and present monthly project reporting including forecast, cash flow, and financial riskReview and validate monthly contractor pay applications and perform field walks to confirm earned valueNegotiate and manage vendor contracts and change orders, including onboarding of new service providersOversee coordination and integration of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with data center design standards and operational goalsDocument and implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce costsCoordinate with Facilities Operations to integrate maintainability and operational readiness into the design and construction processManage and mentor junior staff, ensuring alignment with team and project goalsResponsible for employee management decisions including hiring, training, performance management, and corrective actions as neededMaintain a high degree of situational awareness regarding critical facility impacts and MOP/SOP adherencePerform other duties as assigned by managementExperience/Training/Education/CertificationBachelor's in Construction Management, similar field, or equivalent experience5 years of experience in leading construction projects of growing complexity required, 7+ years preferred1-3 years of supervisory experience requiredExperience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management, requiredStrong verbal and written communication skills; Role requires daily communication with client and team members.Mission critical experience is strongly preferredProficiency in Procore, Cx Alloy, and P6 is strongly preferredPhysical RequirementsSome travel will be required (up to 50%) however may grow over timeAbility to lift up to 25 lbs.Ability to stand, stoop, bend, sit, walk for extended periodsContinuous ability to adapt to the physical needs of a construction site in all phasesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.Cresa is committed to developing and maintaining a diverse workforce.
