Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position Overview We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at MediLodge of Okemos. The role offers all shifts, with hourly wages ranging from $39.40 to $51.39, based on experience, shift, and incentive programs. Key Responsibilities Document residents’ conditions and nursing needs. Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders. Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with resident needs and staff qualifications. Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs. Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting all care. Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel. Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely. Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents. Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments. Interview applicants and recommend hires; participate in counseling, disciplinary action and termination of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act. Supervise nursing unit, including scheduling and directing the nursing staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act. Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance. Perform other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited LPN/LNV school of nursing. Valid LPN/LVN license in the state of employment. Valid CPR certification. One year of nursing experience preferred. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team. Effective communication with residents and their families, and at all levels of the organization. Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations. Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Compensation and Benefits Starting wages $39.40-$51.39 per hour.
