Role Description The Personal Banker Associate II is a full-time, on-site role based in Gaylord, MI, responsible for delivering personalized banking solutions and exceptional customer service. This position focuses on building relationships with consumers and small businesses, opening and servicing accounts, processing transactions, and recommending appropriate banking products such as checking, savings, credit cards, personal loans, and digital banking services. The role includes conducting financial conversations to understand customer needs, educating customers on bank tools and resources, and proactively identifying opportunities for referrals to partners in areas such as lending and wealth management. The Personal Banker Associate II also performs daily operational tasks, including balancing cash drawers, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. Success in this role involves meeting sales and service goals, collaborating with teammates in the financial center, and contributing to a positive, inclusive customer experience. Qualifications Customer service and client relationship skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and provide solutions-focused support. Sales and consultative banking skills, such as identifying customer needs, recommending appropriate products, and meeting branch sales and service targets. Cash handling and operational skills, including accuracy in transactions, balancing drawers, and adhering to bank procedures and regulatory requirements. Problem-solving and analytical skills to assess customer situations, interpret account information, and resolve issues efficiently and professionally. Digital literacy and comfort with banking technology, including core banking systems, customer relationship tools, and online/mobile banking platforms. Ability to work on-site in Gaylord, MI, with a collaborative mindset, reliability, and strong time-management and organization skills. Prior experience in retail banking, financial services, or customer-facing roles is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field is a plus.
