Job Category: Production Operative Workers Requisition Number: WAREH003945 Posted: May 20, 2026 Full‑Time Location Sanborn, IA 51248, USA Description AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American‑type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award‑winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co‑op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co‑op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers. Essential Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: Report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority. Schedule and maintain an accurate and efficient inventory system. Monitor processes and procedures to meet all production goals. Train, develop, schedule and monitor employees that work in the shipping department. Maintain accurate and complete records. Complete cycle counts as required. Follow up on the prompt issuance and completion of work orders. Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers, patrons, employees and customers. Be on call and come into the plant as needed, which may include any time outside of the normal shift and weekends. Obtain forklift certification and training requirements, and train employees on forklifts. Operate forklifts daily and assist warehouse employees with the loading and unloading of trailers. Continuously reduce under‑grade product, foreign material and quality complaints. Play an active role in inspecting, reviewing, and following up on all plant and department audits. Emphasize, train, and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Three years of forklift operations experience required. Three years of experience in dairy or food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Working knowledge of warehousing and hands‑on experience staging, loading, and unloading orders.
