Full-Time, Exempt, 37.5 hours/week, 245 days SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for all aspects of personnel functions including employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and evaluation / enforcement of legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices. Will serve as a partner to the administrative team, foster a positive work culture, and advocate for the well-being of all employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruitment:

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires ability to resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee is continuously required to meet deadlines with time constraints, interact with the public and other staff. Will serve as a partner to the administrative team, foster a positive work culture, and advocate for the well-being of all employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruitment:
- Assist administrators and department heads with recruitment plans, including writing and posting job openings.
- Coordinates the hiring procedures for all new personnel including new hire offer letters.
- Reviews supervisor recommendations for employment of staff or personnel/salary changes and submits to the School Board for approval.
- Administer the online employment application system including opening and closing positions, pushing postings out to other recruitment platforms, and providing general support to applicants.
- Attend appropriate career fairs and prepare materials needed for event.
- Assign and monitor new hire requirements including background checks and paperwork.
- Meet with new hires and provides/reviews new hire packet.
- Submit new hire information to technology department and other departments as necessary.
- Enter new employees into GKB specific systems such as Willsub, Brightarrow, Standards for Success, TalentEd, etc.
- Verify new hire paperwork is complete and enroll new hires in benefit programs including health, vision, life, dental, and retirement.
- Coordinate new teacher orientation.
- Determine qualifying experience for new teachers from previous employers.
- Administers the various benefit platforms and serves as the contact point for benefit vendors. Monitor, evaluate and recommend changes to health benefits and other employee benefits.
- Communicates benefit specifics to employees and organizes and administers annual enrollments. Processes mid-year employee benefit changes per COBRA regulations.
- Reconcile employee benefit invoices.
- Acts as the main contact for employees with benefit questions, provides benefits verification correspondence for employees as needed, counsel employees on benefit options for their specific needs.
- Assist the Superintendent and Business Manager with yearly compensation plans. Suggest increases as needed to remain fair and competitive.
- Participate in annual collective bargaining.
- Calculate final payment information for employees leaving the district.
- Complete various reports pertaining to benefits and compensation as required by State, Federal, and local government, as well as other agencies.
- Oversee the Interpretation and updating of Board Guidelines and Administrative Policies.
- Prepare and update employee handbooks.
- Oversee and participate in matters relating to workers' compensation claims, unemployment compensation, and labor practices.
- Serve as liaison between administrators, professional and support staff, school board and teachers' association.
- Assist instructional and support staff to resolve personnel issues.
- Keep Superintendent informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- Assist with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Prepare annual personnel renewal list for Board approval.
- Development and updating of job descriptions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding all phases of employment.
- Oversees the annual employee mandatory training, monitors the effectiveness and appropriateness of the program, and acts upon recommendations as appropriate, for the refinement of the program.
- Provide verification of records and correspondence for credit and employment purposes. Completes PSLF paperwork.
- Meet and assist staff with the retirement process.
- Coordinate opening day meetings and staff recognition program with district personnel.
- Assist certified staff with licensing requirements.
- Maintain certified license documentation, enter licensing information into BSF, notify staff of upcoming license expiration.
- Review absence reports and process excessive absence letters as needed.
- Serves as the primary contact for all Leave of Absence requests; Coordinate and direct leave administration procedures for the district.
- Approves personal leave day requests and enters leave data into Willsub system.
- Prepares correspondence relaying approval or denial of special leave requests.
- Manage all aspects of the various leave of absence programs (i.e., FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, long-term disability, medical, personal, unpaid, education, and military leaves).
- Maintain all proper documentation related to leave programs. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and plans, including HIPAA, ADA, and FMLA.
- Participates in interactive ADA discussions to find possible reasonable accommodations that do not cause undue hardship to the district.
- Communicate decisions and ongoing expectations with employees regarding leave administration with compassion and excellent customer service.
- Partner with payroll to coordinate eligibility, hours, benefits, and pay issues while an employee is on a leave of absence. Calculate compensation changes for payroll.
- Serves as Title IX Coordinator and Investigator
- Provide general support to Superintendent and Administrators.
- Attend Administrative, Classified Supervisors, Wellness Committee, and Safety Team meetings.
- Prepare and distribute annual employment assurance letters.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
- Complete various personnel reports for government agencies.
- Prepare annual workers' compensation audit materials.
- Prepare and submit annual OSHA report.
- Prepare and submit semi-annual employment reports to county government.
- Works with district administration to create and maintain a healthy and supportive work environment.
