JOB DESCRIPTION

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing front desk operations during overnight hours at Angler’s Hotel Miami Beach. This position ensures a smooth and efficient guest experience while completing nightly accounting and audit functions. The Night Auditor handles guest check-ins and check-outs, processes daily financial transactions, balances reports, and maintains accurate records, while providing professional and courteous service to all guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

• Perform front desk duties including guest check-in and check-out in a professional and friendly manner.
• Provide exceptional guest service and promptly address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
• Answer phone calls and provide accurate information regarding hotel services, amenities, and local area information.
• Review daily arrivals, departures, and in-house reports to ensure proper room assignments and guest satisfaction.
• Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications received during the overnight shift.
• Review next-day arrivals by comparing information across systems and resolve any discrepancies.
• Complete overnight audit procedures, including balancing daily transactions and reconciling accounts.
• Verify and process credit card transactions, cash handling, and billing accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports to management as required.
• Monitor room availability and update system information as needed.
• Maintain accurate guest accounts, folios, and reservation details.
• Handle deliveries received during overnight hours.
• Follow key control policies and ensure security of the front desk area.
• Complete all required overnight checklists and shift duties.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Additional Responsibilities

• Handle guest requests, including wake-up calls, messages, and special accommodations.
• Submit and document lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Previous front desk or customer-facing experience preferred
• Experience with Property Management Systems (Opera or Medialog preferred) is a plus
• Basic understanding of accounting or auditing processes preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
• Knowledge of the local area, services, and attractions is a plus
• Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred; French is a plus
• Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to use computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
• Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

• Overnight hospitality environment with limited supervision
• Fast-paced front office setting requiring attention to detail and multitasking
• Work performed primarily indoors
