Middle Office Operations Associate

A leading global investment firm is seeking a Middle Office Operations Associate to join its Operations team in New York. This individual will play a key role in supporting the daily trade lifecycle, partnering closely with Trading, Portfolio Management, Technology, Finance, Risk, and external counterparties to ensure accurate and timely trade processing. Key Responsibilities Manage the full trade lifecycle from execution through settlement across multiple asset classes. Monitor daily trading activity to ensure timely trade capture, affirmation, allocation, and settlement. Investigate and resolve trade exceptions, reconciliation breaks, and settlement issues. Coordinate with brokers, custodians, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational inquiries. Perform daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations. Support corporate actions, lifecycle events, and other operational processes as needed. Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures. Partner with Technology and Operations leadership to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements. Produce management reporting and assist with operational metrics and KPI tracking. Participate in strategic initiatives, platform enhancements, system testing, and new business implementations. Assist with ad hoc projects supporting business growth and operational scalability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. 3-8+ years of middle office, operations, trade support, or investment operations experience. Experience supporting one or more asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, futures, or other financial products. Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and post-trade operations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; exposure to SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across front office and infrastructure teams. Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Preferred Experience Hedge fund, investment bank, asset manager, or broker-dealer experience. Knowledge of DTCC, NSCC, DTC, SWIFT, or other market utilities. Experience with reconciliation platforms, OMS/EMS systems, and operational workflow tools. Exposure to process automation or operational transformation initiatives.
