Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital in Henderson, where you will work a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While these hours provide a structured workweek, occasional flexibility may be necessary to accommodate patient needs and operational demands. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to devise and implement effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in evaluating and implementing individualized treatment strategies tailored to meet each patient's specific rehabilitation goals.
• Guide patients through designated therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities aimed at promoting physical well-being, mobility, and pain reduction.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding proper body mechanics and effective exercise techniques to reinforce recovery efforts.
• Administer prescribed modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, ensuring strict adherence to safety and procedural guidelines.
• Continuously monitor and document patient progress by tracking improvements in strength, range of motion, and functional abilities, and report relevant observations to the supervising therapist.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain organization of equipment and supplies to ensure smooth operational efficiency during therapy sessions.
• Maintain a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for patients throughout their rehabilitation, focusing on emotional resilience and motivation.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, upholding patient confidentiality and ensuring respect for individual rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with a diverse array of patients, each presenting unique physical therapy needs. This will include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those coping with neurological deficits, and patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups. Your ability to adapt treatments to different populations while delivering empathetic care will directly impact patient recovery and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is mandatory.
• Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic methodologies relevant to physical therapy practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by a supervising Physical Therapist.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• A patient-centric approach, exemplifying compassion and dedication to patient rehabilitation goals.
• Ability to effectively modify treatment approaches based on individual patient responses and needs.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and rehabilitation software will be beneficial as you document patient care and progress.

Compensation and Benefits
