Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a float pool unit covering general Med Surg, Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Health populations
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 across a 63-bed unit
• Administer and monitor Heparin and Insulin drips per facility protocols
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float across general Med Surg, Rehab, and Behavioral Health units as needed
• Participate in required holiday coverage (expected to work 1–2 of the upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, or IMCU capacity
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), active and current
• BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), active and current
• Demonstrated experience administering Heparin and Insulin
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 15 months (first-time travelers are not eligible)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by Driver's License)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele discipline
