Registered Nurse (RN) - Postpartum

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Postpartum unit. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns. This position requires proficiency in newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management. The ability to work nights and weekends is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including titration of magnesium drips.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.
• Participate in unit orientation for new staff and be a resource for team members.
• Assist in preparing and transferring patients as needed across departments.
• Respond to emergencies and prioritize patient safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a postpartum or maternal health setting.
• BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
• Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring systems (Centricity Perinatal).
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple patient needs.
• Experience with diverse patient populations, including those with high-risk conditions.

Unit Information

• Postpartum unit with 32 beds, accommodating various maternal health needs.
• Collaboration with OB and Neonatology teams available 24/7.
• Support staff includes CNAs for enhanced patient care.
• Participation in parental education regarding postpartum recovery and infant care.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. On-call requirements apply during low census periods. Floating to Labor and Delivery for routine newborn transitions is also expected.

COVID-19 vaccination is required for all staff members. Medical solutions may auto-deduct state taxes, which can be re-added as applicable.
