If you are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to gain experience in a fast-paced lab environment, this could be the perfect position for you.ResponsibilitiesSort and receive laboratory specimens in the departmentPerform routine instrument maintenance on laboratory equipmentConduct tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, and recording data including temperature chartsStore and retrieve specimens as neededPrepare reagents and media for laboratory testingPrepare specimens at workstations for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, checking for clots and fibrin, inoculating, and slide preparationPerform quality assurance and quality control duties as assignedResolve pending specimen lists and find missing samplesDecontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe testsMaintain departmental records and file documentationChange gas cylinders and dispose of biohazardous materials following safety protocolsFollow PPE requirements and all safety regulationsOperate laboratory computer systems and PCs efficientlyRequired SkillsAbility to establish work priorities and manage multiple tasks efficientlyStrong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory proceduresGood interpersonal skills, maintaining courtesy and respect with coworkers and customersBasic computer literacy in laboratory systems and general PC useAdditional Skills & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant training is helpfulMath and science courses are preferredNo prior work experience required—training providedMust be able to retain information once learnedSchedule flexibility preferred to handle various tasks and shiftsThis role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop laboratory skills and contribute to vital healthcare services.
