Irrigation Service Technician

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair irrigation systems, including sprinkler systems, drip lines, spray heads, pressure regulators, faucets, and other components.
Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance and proper hydration of plant material.
Start up irrigation systems, perform seasonal adjustments, and complete winterizations as needed.
Calculate water requirements for properties based on weather conditions, plant material, and soil type.
Maintain and service specialized equipment such as emitters, timers, pumps, filters, valves, hoses, and nozzles.
Design or modify irrigation systems for specific applications, including greenhouses, nurseries, and turf grass areas.
Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.
Understand and support the company’s operational philosophies and departmental goals.
Monitor job hours and costs, taking action as needed to stay within budgets.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic understanding of irrigation systems and ability to read and interpret irrigation plans.
Knowledge of irrigation system components such as valves, pumps, and sprinkler heads.
Ability to identify and repair common irrigation system issues.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently, thoroughly, and follow directions.
Understanding of proper hydration techniques for various types of lawns, greenery, and plants.
Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
Ability to stand, walk, stretch, bend, climb ladders, kneel, and pull for prolonged periods.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Regular, dependable attendance required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
