Position We are seeking a mid‑level associate for our Staff Counsel legal team in downtown Boston. The role is hybrid, involving daily in‑person and remote work. Responsibilities Represent Arbella insureds in bodily injury and property damage cases. Interview clients and witnesses. Prepare and conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Prepare and argue motions in Massachusetts courts. Provide advice to colleagues in the Claim Department and business units. Negotiate settlements. Support Senior Counsel on cases and projects. Monitor and stay abreast of case law, conduct research, draft memoranda. Qualifications JD degree; admitted to practice law in Massachusetts. 3–6 years of insurance defense litigation experience. Excellent legal research, writing, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong critical‑thinking, adaptability, and attention to detail. Admittance to the Bars in CT, NH, and/or RI is a plus. Compensation and Benefits Estimated annual salary range: $96,000 – $130,000, based on factors such as experience, education, and performance, with eligibility for the company’s bonus plan.
