Exercise Physiologist

Exercise Physiologist Location Work virtually full‑time with required in‑person training sessions. Offers flexibility and autonomy while ensuring face‑to‑face onboarding and skill development. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM EST. Overview The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing exercise guidance to disease management members. Responsibilities Collaborate with nurse case managers in managing disease management health goals of members. Implement the primary care physicians’ exercise recommendations, providing safe and effective exercise instruction and guidance. Provide member health coaching, education, assessment and support of behavioral changes to promote self‑management of chronic conditions. Provide members with education materials related specifically to member condition. Minimum Requirements Requires a BS/BA degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy or physical education and a minimum of 3 years experience as an exercise specialist, exercise physiologist or fitness instructor/trainer developing exercise prescriptions for special populations; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. A minimum of 1 year cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and physical therapy experience in a clinical setting preferred. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Instructor is preferred. MS in a related field and membership in American Society of Exercise Physiologists is preferred.
